NATURAL SELECTION

CLICK HERE to view an animation that shows how natural selection forces evolution of the finches population on a small island in the Galapagos. You will be asked to interact with the animation at the end. And you can take a 2 question quiz after watching the animation.
How did you do?
How does speciation occur?

CLICK HERE to view an animation that witness how the pollenpeeper (fictional organisms) evolve due to natural selection and adaptive radiation.

  3. I got them both right! Speciation occurs when disruptive selection occurs, or when both extremes of a trait are more common.

  5. speciation occurs when there is disruptive selection, which is when the two extremes of a species are chosen to survive by natural selection. the two extremes of the species can become so different that the two extremes will not be able to produce fertile offspring, classifying them as different species
