Illegal logging is a forbidden form of deforestation that some people use and contributes to deforestation by cutting down even more trees to build roads to reach remote forests.

The leading cause of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon is agriculture. Farmers cut down a few acres of trees for more room to plant crops and graze livestock. Combined, all the little bits of the forest that farmers cut make up a large amount of deforested land.

Illegal logging is deforestation that goes against the restrictions and laws set for the amount of deforestation. Also, illegal loggers don't do any of the necessary paperwork and whatnot. They simply just cut down trees, contributing to the ever-growing plague of deforestation. Illegal loggers also cut down trees to make roads that lead to even more remote forests, which they also cut down and contribute to even more deforestation.
