  1. 2.1 What is sickle cell anemia?
Sickle cell anemia is a codominant disorder that affects hemoglobin, and can distort the shape of the red blood cells in the blood.
2.2 How many abnormal genes must a person inherit to suffer from sickle cell anemia?
Because sickle cell anemia is inherited codominantly, a person must inherit only one abnormal gene to suffer from sickle cell anemia.
