    The news I will provide with patient A is that her daughter/son will have Down Syndrome, the news I will provide with patient B is that his inability to reproduce is due to Klinefelter's Syndrome, and the news I will provide

    Why/how an organism can carry one extra or one missing chromosome is due to a mutation in his/her chromosomes, usually because of the occurrence of non-disjunction during meiosis.

    Also, how does a man not realize he has Klinefelter's syndrome until he is 28 years old?

  3. 1. I would tell patient A that there daughter/son will have down syndrome, this is caused by an abnormal number of chromosomes. I will tell patient B the there daughter/son will have the inability to reproduce due to Klinefelter's Syndrome, this is caused by there being one or more extra sex chromosomes. I will tell patient C that there daughter/son will have Trisomy 13 Syndrome because there is an extra chromosome in pair 13.

    2. Why/How an organism can carry an extra or one missing chromosome is by he or she having a mutation usually because of the occurrence of non-disjunction during meiosis.

  4. Sorry, I didn't finish my comment. The news I will provide with patient C is that he/she has Trisonomy 13, which is due to an extra chromosome in the 13th pair.

    And, Max, if you matched them up correctly, you'd rethink you're answer.

  5. Wouldn't the person with Klinefelter's die or at least realize that he had this disease before that age? Doesn't it affect you?
    Anyway,
    1. Patient A's offspring would have Down Syndrome, which is from having an abnormal number of chromosomes in the 21st pair of chromosomes.
    Patient B's offspring would have Klinefelter's Syndrome, having extra sex chromosomes.
    Patient C's offspring would have Trisomy 13 Syndrome, and extra chromosome in the 13th pair of chromosomes.
    2. It is possible to have extra chromosomes in a pair due to non-disjunction in meiosis. It is possible to live with mutations in the chromosomal number, but you could have a mutation or one of the Syndromes from above.
