  3. Nina, acidosis is when there is excessive acid in the body fluids. kidneys and lungs are two organs that help maintain constant pH level in our body fluids and prevent acidosis. The song refers to lactic acid acidosis, which is a build up of lactic acid in the body. Recall!!! sore muscles after exercise due to fermentation... What are the products of lactic acid fermentation? When do our cells do fermentation?

    Glucose is a 6 carbon simple sugar. Five of these carbons are attached to -OH groups. The position of the sixth carbon that is not attached to an -OH group determines whether or not the sugar is an aldehyde. But, don't worry, you will learn a lot about the structural and chemical formulas of carbohydrates in future chemistry!!!!!
